PHILADELPHIA - Coming off its first victory of the season, Temple Men's Soccer (1-1-1) will make its farthest voyage since 2006, as it travels to the state of California for a pair of matchups against the California Polytechnic State Mustangs (2-2-0) and the California State-Northridge Matadors (2-3-0). The meetings with both squads marks the first time in school history the Owls will have faced the two Big West Conference members. The weekend agenda for the Owls gets underway Friday at 10:00 p.m. ET against Cal-Poly and wraps up with Sunday's 8:00 p.m. ET contest against the Matadors. Both games will have live stats and live audio provided by clicking the links above.

Temple will enter into this weekend's game coming off a 3-2 win over the Manhattan Jaspers in its home opener at the Ambler Sports Complex on Tuesday afternoon. Each team played aggressively, and the Owls were able to come out on top, thanks to three first half goals. At this point in the season the Owls' current leading scorer is transfer and redshirt sophomore Chas Wilson with two goals. Freshman Dalton Andrusko has the Owls only other goal this season, which was an important one, as it proved to be the game-winner in Tuesday's match against Manhattan. On the defensive end is sophomore goalkeeper Dan Scheck, who has only allowed two goals and accrued seven saves through three starts to begin the season.

Cal-Poly is also coming off a win in their home opener against Valparaiso. This victory gave the Mustangs two consecutive wins for the first time since 2010 and their 23rd shutout at Spanos Stadium. Junior Mackenzie Pridham has scored two goals for the Mustangs to start off the 2012 season, helping her to lead the team in scoring. Covering the goal for the Mustangs is freshman Wade Hamilton and sophomore Chase Hauser. Each Mustang has played in two games and together they have combined for nine saves for this season.

Continuing their stay in California, the Owls will venture to the city of Fullerton where they will take on California State-Northridge. The Matadors are coming off a tough loss to UNLV, but return home where they are 2-0-0 already this season.  Coming into the weekend, Northridge has lost its last three matches—all being on the road. Before taking on the Owls, the Matadors will get the weekend slate started with a home match against Army prior to taking on Temple Sunday evening. The current scoring leader after five games for the Matadors is sophomore Edwin Rivas with two goals, while senior netminder Michael Abalos has made 14 saves in the team's first five games.

Following its weekend trip, the Owls will return to the Ambler Sports Complex next Friday afternoon for a 2:30 p.m. kickoff against the Saint Peter's Peacocks.
