Golf Tied For 11th After Round One at The McLaughlin

FARMINGDALE, NY - The Temple golf team tied for 11th among 16 teams after one round of play at The McLaughlin held at the prestigious Bethpage Red Course, home of the 2002 and 2009 U.S. Open Championships. Second round play was halted due to darkness Saturday and will continue Sunday morning which will be followed by the third and final round.
Senior Devin Bibeau carded a one-over 71 to lead the Owls and tie for 11th overall. Freshman Brandon Matthews was one stroke behind (72) and tied for 19th with sophomore Matt Crescenzo next with a two-over 73 to tie for 31st. Sophomore Paul Carbone and junior Russell Hartung rounded out the squad with scores of 77 to tie for 69th.
Auburn leads the field with a one-under score of 279.
