Owls' Women's Tennis Drops 6-1 Match at #73 Princeton

PRINCETON, N.J. – Playing its third nationally ranked opponent in four matches proved challenging for the Temple women's tennis team which dropped a 6-1 decision at #73 Princeton on Wednesday evening. The Owls have also fallen to #49 Penn State and #47 Virginia Commonwealth to start the season, and stand at 1-4 on the spring.
In doubles play, the Tigers quickly got the point with wins at the first and second flights.
Princeton's nationally ranked singles player, Amanda Muliawan, upheld her #52 rank with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Carly Bohman at No. 2 singles. Princeton won four of the other five singles bouts as well. Freshman Minami Okajima picked up her first collegiate win, and Temple's lone victory of the day, with a 6-1, 6-4 decision at the sixth flight.
Temple is back on the courts on Friday, February 8 with a match against Atlantic 10 rival Richmond at the University of Pennsylvania at 12 p.m.
