News & Notes Following Temple 38-20 Loss at Cincinnati

RB Zaire Williams scored his first career TD on a 1-yard run. That score was set up by a fumble on a Cincinnati kickoff return. S Will Hayes the fumble that was recovered by Haasan Reddick on the Cincinnati 24.

Williams also played a big part in the Owls first score with 2 receptions for 47 yards before a 35-yard TD pass from P.J. Walker to Jalen Fitzpatrick. On that drive, Walker was 3-3 passing for 82 yards.

QB turned WR, Clinton "Juice" Granger joined the scoring with his first career TD reception – a 30-yarder from Walker.

The four prominent ball carriers for Temple all averaged greater than 5.0-yards per carry. RB Kenneth Harper (7.2; 10-72), Zaire Williams (6.0; 7-42), RB Jamie Gilmore (6.3; 3-19) and Walker (5.2; 9-47).

TU had a season high 7 plays for 20+ yards. In fact, six different plays made a contribution to that total. Williams (24 rush, 29 receiving), Walker (31 rush), Harper (29 rush), Fitzpatrick (35t receiving), Granger (30t receiving), and WR Ryan Alderman (23 receiving).

Punter Paul Layton continued showcasing his strong leg. He held a 46.8 yard average on 6 punts including 3 downed inside the 20.

For the 5th time in 6 games, WLB Tyler Matakevich led the team in tackles with 15. He now has 5 games with 10+ tackle and leads the team with 82 stops.

DE Shahbaz Ahmed tallied his first career sack.
