Men's Golf Leads After First Day at Barnabas Health Intercollegiate

BEDMINSTER, NJ - Senior Matt Crescenzo carded a three-under 69 to tie for the lead after the first round of play at the Barnabas Health Intercollegiate Sunday.  The two-day event, hosted by Seton Hall, is being held at the Fiddler's Elbow Country Club.

Sophomore Brandon Matthews (70) and junior Matt Teesdale (71) were also under par for the  day, tying for third and fifth, respectively.  Senior Russell Hartung placed fourth for Temple and tied for 31st overall with a five-over 77 while freshman Evan Galbreath rounded out the Owls five with an 82 to tie for 59th.

Seton Hall's Lloyd Jefferson Go was tied for the lead with Crescenzo while La Salle's Mike Johnson shot a 70 tie Matthews for third.

Temple led the field with a one-under 287.  The Owls were followed by Minnesota (291), Seton Hall (294), Robert Morris (303), Monmouth (303), Iona (306), St. Peter's (306), La Salle (306), Fordham (308), LIU-Brooklyn (308), St. Francis (PA (309), Fairfield (311), St. Francis (NY) (321), Manhattan (322) and Wagner (328).

Play concludes tomorrow.
