PHILADELPHIA- Women's Rowing will compete on familiar territory this weekend at the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta. The annual Regatta is expected to feature over 6,500 athletes taking part in the 2.5 mile course around the Schuylkill River. The Owls will enter over ten boats into the two-day race.
"This is a big weekend for Temple Rowing," said women's rowing head coach Rebecca Smith Grzybowski "It's the last race in a very productive fall season and we are looking forward to putting some solid races together in all boats. In particular we are excited for our five boats of novice women - most of whom will be racing as Temple Owls for the first time! They have worked really hard with our novice coaches these past few weeks and it will be great to see them in action."
The Owls begin their weekend on Saturday, October 26th with the Novice 4+ at 8:30am and continue with the college frosh/ novice 8+. On Sunday, Owls racing starts at 9:40am with the women's college/open 4+ and continues throughout the day, including the women's club 8+ at 11:40am, women's open/championship 8+ at 2:40pm and women's alumni 8 at 3:15pm.
