ORLANDO, Fl. – Temple men's soccer tied UCF (6-4-5, 2-2-3) 2-2, on Sunday afternoon at UCF Soccer Complex. The tie moves the Owls' record to 9-3-4, 2-2-3.

Neither team scored in the first half with only seven total shots combined by the two teams.

Temple opened up the scoring four minutes into the second half. Vaughn Spurrier scored on an unassisted goal for this third goal of the season to give the Owls a 1-0 lead.

Chas Wilson made it a 2-0 lead in the 56th minute. Receiving a pass from Jared Martinelli, Wilson registered a shot that bounced off the post and went in for this fourth goal of the season.

The Knights quickly responded to the two goals by the Owls. In the 57th minute, Omar Vallejo got a pass from Fernado Laverde and scored off a shot from 20 yards just outside of the box.

UCF tied the game in the 83rd minute on a penalty kick by Romario Williams.

Both teams went scoreless in the overtime periods. Temple had two shots in overtime, while UCF only had one shot.

Temple and UCF both finished with 11 shots in the game.

Goalkeeper Dan Scheck had five saves in the game.

The Owls will conclude their regular season next Saturday on Senior Day at home against Cincinnati at 1:00 p.m. Cincinnati (6-10-1, 1-6-0) is in last place of the conference, but the Bearcats upset conference leader Louisville 2-0 at home on Wednesday.
