Women's Rowing Complete Fall Season at Head of the Schuylkill Regatta

PHILADELPHIA- Women's rowing had full participation for their final regatta of the fall season at the annual Head of the Schuylkill Regatta. The Owls entered over ten boats into the regatta and competed against over 6,500 rowers from across the nation.

To start the competition, the Owls landed a 4th place finish in the novice 4+ race. The Temple boat was comprised of Aubrie Foden (coxswain), Lea Millio (seat-4), Sydney Garofolo (seat-3), Imani Johnson (seat-2) and Kathleen Mascitelli (seat-1)

Temple women's rowing entered four boats into the college frosh/novice 8+. The Temple boats finished in succession in 11th, 16th, 25th and 33rd place, respectively. Temple A was comprised of Aubrie Foden (coxswain), Hope Watson (seat-8), Kathleen Mascitelli (seat-7), Lindsay Ackerman (seat-6), Sydney Garofolo (seat-5), Peace Ozoemena (seat-4), Layla Moran (seat-3), Imani Johnson (seat-2) and Samantha Sederstrand (bow). The A boat finished with a time of 17:44.93, one minute before Temple B who finished with a time of 18:51.39. The Temple B was comprised of Arthi Selvan (coxswain), Aimee Meissner (seat-8), Taryn Beaver (seat-7), Emily Mehler (seat-6), Rachael Braccia (seat-5), Gabriella Kelly (seat-4), Lauren Thamel (seat-3), Caroline Nichols (seat-2) and Kaitlin Grisanti (seat-1). Temple C, led by Nicole Barth, was comprised of Aiste Cechaviciute (seat-8), Kayla Dorney (seat-7), Olivia Aizen (seat-6), Sarah Asman (seat-5), Julia Maass (seat-4), Olivia Farkas (seat-3), Rebecca McCloskey (seat-2) and Jenna Bahel (seat 1). The Temple D boat crossed the finish line with a time of 24:01.24 and the boat was comprised of Leticia Lucero (coxswain), Jessica Wallick (seat-8), Brianne Wojciechowski (seat-7), Lizzy Lagasse (seat-6), Marissa Mandrack (seat-5), Justine Marks (seat-4), Isabella Abiuso (seat-3), Zoe Stueck (seat-2) and Emily Brozzoski (seat-1).

The Owls next event of the day was the college/open 4+ race. The Temple Boat A finished in 8th place with a time of 17:31.92. The A boat featured Erin Matz (coxswain), Victoria Joye (seat-4), Kara Carson (seat-3), Jackie Lees (seat-2) and Emily Opperman. The Owls B boat led by Eleanor Oken, was comprised of Megan Boyer (seat-4), Sarah Barber (seat-3), Moira Meekes (seat-2) and Susan O'Neil Coyne (seat-1).

The Temple A boat had a strong race, finishing the College/Open Club 8+ race with a time of 17:51.92 in 5th place. The A boat was comprised of Eleanor Oken (coxswain ), Victoria Joye (seat-8), Stephanie barber (seat-7), Blair Bradley (seat-6), Lauren Kidd (seat-5), Allison Watkins (seat-4) , Gina Inverso (seat-3), Grace Kroner ( seat-2) and Emily Opperman (seat-1). Temple B finished the race in 25th place. The B boat featured Julia Wolanski (coxswain), Kelly Hill (seat-8), Devin Dakes (seat-7), Anne Buckley (seat-6), Emily Leyland (seat-5), Lily Papaleo 9seat-4), Stephanie Pennypacker (seat-3), Nicole Stark (seat-2) and Kathy Bostion (seat-1).

The highly competitive open/championship 8+ race gave the owls another chance to perform well on the Schuylkill. The only temple boat entered, featured Kelsey Franks (coxswain), Kara carson (seat-8), Megan Boyer (seat-7), Sarah Barber (seat-6), Lea Millio (seat-5), Callista DiGuardia (seat-4) , Jackie Lees (seat-3), Susan O'Neil Coyne (seat-2) and Moira Meekes (seat-1) . The Owls finished in 16th place with a time of 17:34.98.

A special appearance and 5th place finish by nine Temple alumni in the women's alumni 8 race, capped off a solid weekend for the owls.
