Women's Soccer Falls to Rutgers 2-0 in Regular Season Finale

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Temple women's soccer dropped an American Athletic Conference road matchup against Rutgers (12-4-2, 5-3-1) 2-0 on Sunday afternoon at Yurcak Field. The loss drops the Owls' record to 6-11-1, 1-8-0.
Rutgers scored the first goal in the game at the 36th minute. Erica Skroski scored from three yards out on a cross by Jennifer Andresen.
Shauni Kerkhoff made four saves in the first half to keep the Owls in the game, as they were outshot 15-2 in the half.
Stefanie Scholz added another goal in the 80th minute after dribbling through three defenders and putting a shot behind Kerkhoff.
Kerkhoff finished the match with four saves.
The game marked the end of the regular season for the Owls. They finished 9th in the conference with three points. They will play the 8th seed SMU in the first round of the conference tournament on Friday, Nov. 1st. The game will be played at the home of the conference champions UCF. The winner of the Temple-SMU game will play UCF two days later on Sunday, Nov. 3 at 1:00 p.m. in the quarterfinals.
