Following Robby Andersons record setting performance Saturday against SMU in Dallas, he has been awarded a myriad of honors.

He was named to the American Athletic Conference Honor Roll as well as being named the College Football Performance Awards Honorable Mention Wide Receiver of the Week. Locally on campus, Anderson was named the Student-Athlete of the Week.

Anderson set a school record of 239 receiving yards on 9 catches with 2 touchdowns. He took a short hitch pass and turned it into a 42-yard TD for the first score of his career. On the next possession, WR Jalen Fitzpatrick, a QB in high school, took an end around and connected 83-yards for a TD to Anderson. It was Fitzpatrick's first college pass attempt. It also, was the third longest pass play in school history and longest since 1996 (Henry Burris to Van Johnson 87t vs. Pittsburgh). Anderson had already topped the 100-yard receiving mark by the second series in the first quarter.

P.J. Walker, the other end of the 1-2 deep ball threat combined with Anderson, also received praise for his play. He was tabbed by the College Football Performance Awards as the Honorable Mention Quarterback of the Week. The true freshman quarterback, starting for just the third time, completed his first 16 passes for 168 yards and 3 touchdowns. Walker finished the game going 27-for-36 for 293 yards and 4 touchdowns. He also rushed 14 times for 92 yards also adding another touchdown via a quarterback keeper.
