THIS WEEK

After a 10-day break for final exams, Temple returns to action at Montana on Saturday, Dec. 14 for a 7 p.m. MT (9 p.m. ET) game at Dahlberg Arena.

SCOUTING TEMPLE
The Owls, under sixth-year head coach Tonya Cardoza, stand 4-2 on the season after a 73-53 loss to city rival Saint Joseph's in Big 5 action on Dec. 4.

After six games, four Owl starters are averaging double-figure scoring. Freshman Feyonda Fitzgerald (Norfolk, Va.) is the Owls' leading scorer with 14.8 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. Senior Natasha Thames (Port Huron, Mich.) follows with 12.8 ppg and 7.0 rpg, while  Junior Tyonna Williams (Fort Washington, Md.) adds 12.7 points and a  5.3 apg.  Senior Shi-Heria Shipp (Salisbury, N.C.) also adds 10.7 ppg and 7.0 rpg.

SCOUTING MONTANA
The Lady Griz, under the guidance of 36th-year head coach Robin Selvig, stand 6-1 after a 71-48 win over UC?Irvine in the championship game of their own Lady Griz Classic.  

Senior guard Torry Hill is the top Grizzlie with 13.6 ppg and 2.7 rpg.  Junior Kellie Cole follows with 11.0 ppg.  Senior Jordan Sullivan, who averages 9.3 ppg, is the top rebounder with 6.0 rpg. She was named the tournament MVP  after averaging 13.5 points and 6.5 rebounds in UM's two wins while shooting 50.0 percent and going 5-of-11 from 3-point range. She scored a career-high 16 points on Friday.
 
SERIES VS. LADY GRIZ
Temple and Montana have met just once on the hardwood. In the season opener last fall in McGonigle Hall, the Owls claimed a 55-41 win.

The teams were tied at halftime, but Temple opened the second half on a 12-2 run and never looked back. Senior Victoria Macaulay scored a career-tying 21 points and grabbed a career-high 16 rebounds.

FUN FACT
No Temple players have ever visited the state of Montana before this trip West.

HAVE SUITCASE, WILL TRAVEL
Temple embarks on its longest trip of the season on Friday, Dec. 13, heading 2,331 miles west to Montana.  TU will then fly directly to Syracuse for a Dec. 16 contest.  The Owls, which will rely on their wings to get them back home, will cover 4,836 total miles on the trip.

TU will travel to Texas in February for American Athletic Conference play, meeting SMU and Houston. That trip, however, will only cover 3,275 miles roundtrip.

UP NEXT
Temple continues its two-game road trip. The second stop is Syracuse on Monday, Dec. 16. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m. at the Carrier Dome.
