Shipp Named to Women’s Basketball Honor Rolls

PHILADELPHIA – Temple senior Shi-Heria Shipp (Salisbury, N.C.) was named to the American Athletic Conference and Philadelphia Big 5 women's basketball Honor Rolls on Monday.
Shipp was also named the OwlSports.com Athlete of the Week.
In Saturday's 61-52 win at Montana, Shipp led the Owls with 17 points and a career-high 16 rebounds. It marked her first double-double as an Owl and just the second of her collegiate career. She also grabbed three steals in 38 minutes of action. A perfect 3-0 in road games this season, Temple snapped Montana's 10-game home winning streak.
A starter in all seven games, Shipp averages 11.6 ppg and a team-best 8.3 rpg.
The honors are Shipp's second of the season. She also earned recognition from both conferences on Nov. 11 following the season opener.
Temple (5-2) visits No. 23 Syracuse (8-1) on Monday, Dec. 16 for a 7 p.m. contest at the Carrier Dome. The Owls then host two games McGonigle Hall this week—Howard on Thursday, Dec. 19 at 7 p.m. and Villanova on Sunday, Dec. 22 at 2 p.m. For ticket information, call 215-204-8499.
