PHILADELPHIA - The 2013 season has nearly arrived for seventh-year head coach Bonnie Rosen and the Temple lacrosse team, and the Owls open the slate with four straight home contests at Geasey Field. First up is a 1:00 p.m. game against Niagara on Saturday, Feb. 16. Live stats for the game will be available HERE, and, weather-permitting, there will be a live webcast HERE.

Temple will play nine non-conference games before beginning its Atlantic 10 schedule for the final time. Four of eight teams will advance to the 2013 Atlantic 10 Tournament, set for April 26 and 28 at Massachusetts. The Owls narrowly missed out on a berth a year ago, and will be trying to make their final season in the conference a memorable one.

Seven starters were lost to graduation at the end of the 2012 season, but six of the Owls' top 10 scorers are returning. Joining 15 veterans are 13 true freshmen who already have a season of fall collegiate ball under their belts. The top goal-scorer from a year ago was Stephany Parcell, now coming back for her senior year with 80 career goals to her name. Saturday's meeting will be the first-ever between the Owls and the Purple Eagles. Niagara finished with a 3-11 record last season, and an 0-6 record in the MAAC. The Purple Eagles return Fran Pollastro, a senior attacker who scored 25 goals last year. Head coach Wendy Stone is beginning her first season with the program in 2013.
