BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Temple women's tennis team continued its challenging 2013 schedule with a match at undefeated Buffalo on Saturday afternoon. The Owls dropped a 6-1 decision to the Bulls at the Miller Tennis Center.
The host team took the doubles point with wins at flights one and three. Yana Mavrina and Rebecca Breland salvaged the sweep with a decisive 8-1win over Anamaria Candanoza and Tamara Markovic at the second flight.
Singles action got underway with another UB point at number five, before Breland made it a 2-1 match with a win at the third flight. The sophomore defeated Laura Fernandez 7-6(4), 6-2 for her sixth singles win of the season. It was all Bulls from there, however, as the squad cruised to the 6-1 victory.
