Tyonna Williams Named Big 5 Women's Basketball Player of the Week

PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia Big 5 honored Tyonna Williams (So., G) of Temple as the Big 5 Women's Basketball Player of the Week on Feb. 4. Williams averaged 20 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 4.5 assists in a 2-0 week as the Owls defeated both Richmond and Massachusetts.
Williams scored a career-best 23 points to go with seven assists and six boards in a road win at UMass on Feb. 3. Earlier in the week against Richmond, she had a game-high 17 points and led all players with six assists. For the week, she hit 12-of-13 free throws and averaged 38 minutes per contest.
The Owls are currently 10-11 overall and 3-3 in the Atlantic 10, and will play next at Charlotte on Wednesday, Feb. 6 at 7:00 p.m.
