Men's Golf Ties For 15th at Furman Intercollegiate

GREENVILLE, NC – Temple opened its spring schedule this weekend at the Furman Intercollegiate. The Owls tied for 16th place among the 21 teams competing at the Furman University Golf Course. Virginia Tech won the three-day event which ended Sunday.
Sophomore Paul Carbone led Temple and tied for 49th place with a 226 (78-73-75). Freshman Brandon Matthews (74-77-76) and sophomore Matt Teesdale (80-74-73) were one-shot behind and tied for 58th with 227s. Sophomore Matthew Crescenzo (80-74-76) was tied for 72nd with a 230 while senior Devin Bibeau (81-75-79, 235/t92nd) rounded out the field for Temple.
Virginia Tech carded a 21-under par 843 to win the title. The Hokies were followed by North Florida (862), Troy (873), Samford (877), Iowa State (879), Western Carolina (880), Chattanooga (881), Georgia State (885), Gardner-Webb (886), Purdue (888), East Tennessee state (889), Winthrop (889), Charleston southern (891), Akron (898), Presbyterian (903), Temple (908), Furman (908), Wofford (911), Dartmouth (916), Francis Marion (918) and Marshall (922).
The Owls next compete at the Wildcat Invitational on April 1-2.
