Owls Continue Strong Season at Murphy Cup Regatta

Results
Camden, N.J.- Temple Men's Rowing and Women's Crew fared well this afternoon at the 2013 Murphy Cup Regatta. The Owls entered nine boats into the regatta and placed four boats in the final rounds.
Men's Boats
The Varsity 8+ boat, led by Matthew Sbei, was comprised of Mike Mirabella (seat-8), Charles Anderson (seat-7), Fergal Berry (seat-6), Gary Wielgus (seat-5), Brian Reifsnyder (seat-4), Joshua Kuzo (seat-3), Michael Pellegrini (seat-2) and Kevin Nally (bow).The boat placed 3rd in the Men's Varsity 8+ finals with a time of 5.57.92. Virginia finished 1st with a time of 5:49.65.
Finishing 6th in the Junior Varsity 8+ finals, the Temple Mens Crew A boat, comprised of Nicholas Palastro (coxswain), Connor Murphy (seat-8), Pat Woodruff (seat-7), Bryan Berry (seat-6), Dan Sipzner (seat-5), Zephyr Dippel (seat-4), Evan Hammond (seat-3), Chris Roberts (seat-2) and Richard Ehmer (bow), recorded a 6:17.53 time.
Women's Boats
The Temple Women's Varsity 8+ A boat, led by Kelsey Franks (coxswain), was comprised of Paige O' Sullivan (seat-8), Claudia Loeber (seat-7), Joanna Sutor (seat-6), Jeanine Lees (seat-5), Moira Meeks (seat-4), Jackie Lees (seat-3), Brittany Adell (seat 2) and Emily Opperman (bow). The boat placed 4th in D1 finals behind Navy, Buffalo and Williams University with a time of 6:53.01.
The Owls Varsity 4+ A boat was comprised of Erin Matz (coxswain), Blair Bradley ( seat-4), Sarah Barber (seat-3), Lily Papaleo (seat-2) and Susan O'Neil Coyne at bow. The Owls 4th place in the Womens Varsity 4+ finals with a time of 7:57.86. Navy led the race and finished in 1st place with a time of 7:44.87.
Both teams will return to action April 13th- 14th in Camden, N.J. at the Knecht Cup Regatta
