PHILADELPHIA – Temple University Athletics has named Quinton Smith and Kristy Bannon Sromovsky as assistant directors for Compliance & Student-Athlete Affairs.

Smith joins the Owls after three years at the Patriot League, most recently the associate director for Compliance and Sport Management.

Sromovsky earned the promotion after serving as the Compliance & Student Services Coordinator for the department since January 2010. She was formerly the department's graduate extern while pursuing a master's degree in sport and recreation administration.

“We are pleased to welcome Quinton to our team. He brings valuable experience from the institutional, conference and national office levels that will be a great addition to our department,” said Sherryta Freeman, Senior Associate Athletic Director for Compliance & Student-Athlete Affairs.  “This was a great opportunity to recognize Kristy for her efforts and commitment to Temple. She is a valuable member of our team, and our department will continue to improve with her additional responsibilities.”

Smith was elevated to the associate director for Compliance and Sport Management at the Patriot League in 2012 after serving as the assistant director for two years.

During the 2009-10 academic year, Smith served as an enforcement intern with the NCAA National Office in Indianapolis.

A 2006 graduate of Indiana University, Smith earned a bachelor's degree in sports marketing and management. He earned a master's degree from IU in kinesiology in 2008 while working as an intern with the Hoosiers' athletics compliance department.

At Temple, Smith will assist in all compliance and student-athlete affairs efforts.  His primary responsibilities include recruiting, serving as the liaison to admissions, and leading our life skills and student-athlete development programming.
