Golfers Earn A10 Player and Rookie of the Week Honors

PHILADELPHIA - Sophomore Matt Teesdale and freshman Brandon Matthews have been named the Atlantic 10 Conference Men's Golf Player and Rookie of the Week for the week ending April 16. The Temple golfers earned the awards for sharing the individual medalist honors at the Princeton Invitational this past weekend (April 14-15), carding four-under par scores of 209 to lead the Owls to a second place finish at the 14-team event.

The Owl golfers shot identical scores (69-71-69) on all three rounds with the combined total of 209 tying Andrew Mason (209 at the 2010 McLaughlin) for the third lowest 54-hole score in Temple history. It was Teesdale's first individual title as an Owl while Matthews notched the second of his rookie season.

It is the first Conference honor for Teesdale while Matthews picks up his seventh Rookie of the Week citation.
