Golf Places Third at The Century Intercollegiate

PURCHASE, NY – Temple had three finishers among the Top 10 golfers at the two-day, 36-hole The Century Intercollegiate, but the Owls were not able to bring home the title, finishing third at the eight-team tournament held at Century Golf Club. Host Yale won the tournament with a two-day total of 600. Rhode Island placed second with a score of 603 while Temple totaled a 608 in the tournament that finished Sunday afternoon.

Freshman Brandon Matthews again led the Owls, tying for sixth overall with a 151 (75-76). Junior Matthew Crescenzo (72-80, 152) and sophomore Matt Teesdale (79-74, 153) also finished among the Top10, tying for sixth and ninth, respectively.

Sophomore Paul Carbone (77-78, 155) tied for 17th while senior Devin Bibeau (76-85, 161) and junior Russell Hartung (92-81, 173) rounded out the Owls in 29th and 46th places, respectively.

Temple next travels to Heron Bay Golf Club in Coral Spring, Fla. for the Atlantic 10 Championship. The three-day, 54-hole tournament starts on Friday, April 26.
