Big Softball Doubleheader on Tap Today as Owls Host Saint Joseph's in Battle for First Place in A10

PHILADELPHIA – Two Philadelphia softball teams will square off this afternoon in a critical Atlantic 10 doubleheader that will decide who is in first place in the conference standings. The Temple Owls (16-15, 5-1 A10) host cross-city rival Saint Joseph's (21-3-1, 6-0 A10) in a battle for first at Temple Softball Stadium, with game one beginning at 3 p.m.
Both games will be streamed live on OwlSports.com, and live stats will also be available.
The Cherry & White are led by the reigning conference player of the week, junior Stephanie Pasquale, who is hitting a league best .485 on the year. The catcher/designated player has already set two single-season records this year, including doubles (15) and RBI (47), as well as breaking the career RBI record in the last game.
On the mound, rookie Kelsey Dominik leads the squad with a 7-1 record. The most recent A-10 Rookie of the Week has thrown 59.0 innings in 12 appearances, holding opponents to a .299 average.
After today's games, TU remains at home to host Dayton for two more conference games on Friday and Saturday. The Flyers are currently the third-place team.
