Alban Named To Philadelphia Inquirer Women's At-Large Academic All-Area Team

PHILADELPHIA – Senior Jean Alban (Springfield, Mass.) of the Temple women's gymnastics team has been named to the Philadelphia Inquirer Women's At-Large Academic All-Area Team. Alban, who joins fellow Temple student-athlete junior Chantal Montrose (fencing) is one of 10 student-athletes recognized for their work in competition and in the classroom this season. Penn's Wendy Zhou (fencing) was named the Academic All-Area Performer of the Year. The list of the entire team can be viewed by clicking the link above.
Alban, an Advertising major with a grade point average of 3.21, qualified for the USAG Championships as an all-arounder. Working all four events, Alban set her career-high all-around score at West Virginia with a value of 38.65. The two-time ECAC Gymnast of the Week also set career-highs on all four event, earning a 9.575 on vault, 9.675 on bars, 9.775 on beam and 9.725 on floor
