PHILADELPHIA -- It may not be to the extent of ABC's popular show, Extreme Makeover, but Temple University's McGonigle Hall, which first opened its doors to host the Owls athletic teams in 1969, is having a major facelift.
The floor, which has not been redone since the 1970s, is being completely replaced. A new floor, which will continue to be used for both varsity athletics as well as classes for the school of kiniseology, will be installed.
There will also be new padding underneath the baskets while the inside of the arena will be freshly painted and Temple Athletics branding graphics will be visible to enhance the overall look of the venue.
The project is expected to be completed by the start of the fall semester. As it progresses we will update the photo gallery.
