Men's Tennis Heads to Navy Invitational to Kick Off Fall Season

PHILADELPHIA – Temple's men's tennis team will take the courts for the first time in the fall of 2013 with play at the Navy Invitational this weekend. The Owls will face St. Bonaventure on Friday, September 6 at 10 a.m., Delaware on Saturday at 2 p.m. and the host Navy on Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m.
Weather permitting, the matches will be played outdoors on the USNA Tennis Courts. In the event of inclement weather, the invitational will be moved indoors to The Tose Family Tennis Center.
The invite is an individual, flighted tournament that will not utilize team scoring. Players will compete in a round robin flighted tournament format (Nos. 1 vs. only Nos. 1, etc.) and will stay at their flight the entire weekend.
The Owls return seven letterwinners from last year's squad, which went 8-12 in its final year in the Atlantic 10. Temple begins its first season as a member of the American Athletic Conference in 2013-14.
