Softball Releases 2013 Fall Schedule

PHILADELPHIA – Temple head softball coach Joe DiPietro has released the 2013 fall schedule for his squad. The Owls will take part in two tournaments, while also hosting two doubleheaders at Temple Softball Stadium in Ambler, Pa.
TU opens fall ball hosting a twinbill against Caldwell on Sunday, September 15 at 12 p.m. One week later, the team takes part in the UPenn Fall Classic, squaring off against Philadelphia University at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, September 22, before facing Wagner at 11:30 a.m.
In October, the Cherry & White travel to Newark, N.J., for the NJ Pride College Tournament. On October 6, Temple faces defending CAA champion and NCAA participant Hofstra at 12 p.m. before taking on Lafayette at 4 p.m. The Owls close out the fall with a doubleheader against Delaware at 12 p.m. on Sunday, October 13.
Temple finished the 2013 campaign at 32-26, setting a school record for wins in a season. The team earned a third-place finish at the A-10 Tournament, its final year in the league, which is the highest finish for the Owls since winning it in 2004. The squad returns all but five players from that team.
