Fitzgerald Named to Big 5 Honor Roll

PHILADELPHIA – Temple freshman Feyonda Fitzgerald (Norfolk, Va.) has been named to the Philadelphia Big 5 Honor Roll.
 
In two American Athletic Conference road games last week, the freshman point guard averaged 11.0 points per game.  She shot 72 percent from the free throw line and dished out six assists.
 
At USF on Tuesday, Fitzgerald paced the Owls with 17 points.  She went 5-of-6 from the line. Fitzgerald also had four assists and a steal in 37 minutes of action.
 
At No. 1 Connecticut on Saturday, the freshman had five points and two assists while directing the Owls' offense.
 
A starter in all 15 games, Fitzgerald is the Owls' leading scorer with 13.4 ppg. She also dishes out 3.7 apg. Fitzgerald has scored in double figures in 10 games.
 
Temple (8-7, 2-3) hosts SMU (11-5, 2-3) on Tuesday, Jan. 14 at Noon in its first game of the season at the Liacouras Center.  The game is the Owls' annual "Shoot for Success" game with area school students in attendance.  The American Digital Network will televise the game live online.
