Thames Named to Women’s Basketball Honor Rolls

PHILADELPHIA – Temple senior Natasha Thames (Port Huron, Mich.) was named to the American Athletic Conference and the Philadelphia Big 5 women's basketball Honor Rolls on Monday.
 
In two American home games last week, Thames led the Owls with 19.0 points and 67 percent shooting (16-of-24).
 
Against No. 7 Louisville, Thames led the Owls with a career-high 24 points, nine rebounds (just one rebound shy of a double-double), and two blocks.  She shot 10-of-15 from the field, both career highs for makes and attempts.
 
In the win over UCF, Thames had 14 points, on 6-for-9 shooting, three rebounds, and two steals.
 
A starter in all 13 games, Thames stands second in team scoring with 13.5 ppg.  She averages 7.4 rpg and shoots a team-high 56 percent from the field.
 
The honors are the first for Thames.
 
The Temple Owls (8-5, 2-1) travel to USF (7-7, 2-1) on Tuesday, Jan. 7 for a 7 p.m. game at the Sun Dome. The American Digital Network will televise the game live online.
