Karina and Stuckey-Willis Advance in Doubles Main Draw at ITA Atlantic Regional Championship

BLACKSBURG, Va. - Dina Karina and Monet Stuckey-Willis are one step closer to an ITA Atlantic Regional Championship title in doubles, winning their round of 16 match Saturday morning. The tournament is being held at Virginia Tech's Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center Oct. 17-21.
Karina and Stuckey-Willis defeated Maria Groner and Olivia Thaler from William and Mary 8-5 in order to move on to the quarterfinals. The duo will take on Francesca Fusinato and Kelly Williford, the No. 7 seed from Virginia Tech, at 9 a.m. Sunday.
In singles play, both Karina and Stuckey-Willis dropped their opening round main draw singles matches on Saturday. Karina fell to Penn State's Taylor Shukow 6-4, 6-1 and Stuckey-Willis dropped a 6-0, 6-2 decision to Virginia's No. 3 seed Maci Epstein.
