Women's Soccer Heads to Delaware St. Tomorrow for a Non-Conference Match

PHILADELPHIA – The Owls return to action tomorrow as they head to Dover, Del. Temple will take on Delaware St. for a non-conference match at Alumni Stadium. The game is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start.

Temple now sits at 10-6-1 and 3-4-1 in the conference after battling with Conference leaders UCF and USF last weekend. The Owls currently stand in 7th place in the conference with ten conference points. UCF (13-3-0; 6-1-0 18pts) and USF (9-6-1; 4-3-0 12pts) hold the 1st and 4th place in the conference respectively.

Temple will close out the weekend when they take on UConn Sunday. The game is scheduled as senior day and will feature Temple's lone senior Alyssa Kirk. The game will start at 1:00 p.m. at Ambler Sports Complex in Ambler, Pa.

Headlines 
•Temple is 10-6-1 with a 3-4-1 conference record for the 2014 season. The Owls just came off a two-game home stand; hosting #18 UCF on Thursday, and USF on Sunday.
•Temple is now the third team in program history with double digit wins in a season. The women's soccer program has only had double digit wins in a season twice. Those seasons were the 1991 inaugural season when they went 11-7-0 under head coach Elleen Richart and the 2000 season when they stood at 11-9-0 under head coach Seamus McWilliams.
•Temple women's soccer lost to USF 2-0 Sunday afternoon in Ambler, Pa.?Temple out-shot USF 14-11.
•Temple women's soccer showed fight but ultimately fell 2-0 to #18 UCF Thursday evening in Ambler, Pa.
Kelly Farrell leads the Owls in points with 16. Farrell also leads the Owls in goals with 7. Farrell also has 2 assists and posts a .607 shots on goal percentage.
Kayla Cunningham is 2nd in points with 9. Cunningham leads the Owls in shots on goal with 19 and shots with 45. Cunningham also has 1 assist.
•Starting goalkeeper Shauni Kerkhoff currently boosts a 1.04 goals against average, .795 save percentage, 5 shutouts, along with recording 70 saves on the season. Kerkhoff is first all-time in save percentage (.814), goals against average (1.12),?and shutouts (16). Kerkhoff also ranks 5th all-time in saves with 228.
•Temple women's soccer defeated Cornell 2-1 in double overtime on 9/14/14 to win the Cornell Classic. The Owls improved their winning streak to seven games, and broke the record for the longest winning streak in program history and set the bar for the best start in program history.
•Delaware St. comes in with a record of 3-9-1. Last week, the Hornets had a bye week. The Hornet's last contest was on Oct. 10th, which resulted in a 2-1 loss at NJIT.
