Men's Crew Competes in Princeton 3-Mile Chase

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Temple men's crew team raced four boats at the prestigious Princeton 3-Mile Chase on Sunday. The event was held on the waters of Lake Carnegie.

The Owls had a pair of entries compete in the 63-boat varsity eight heavyweight event. The Temple "A" boat finished 37th in a time of 14:04.09, while the "B" boat was 53rd in 14:33.93. The Owls "A" boat featured Truman Levine (coxswain), Connor Murphy (stroke), Gary Weilgus (seven seat), Brian Reifsnyder (six seat), Charles Anderson (five seat), Bryan Berry (four seat), Evan Hammond (three seat), Collin McKinney (two seat), and Ryan Dartnell (bow). The "B" entry was comprised of Julia Wolanski (coxswain), Thomas Robbins (stroke), Stephen Lindeman (seven seat), Michael Pellegrini (six seat), Daniel Sipzner (five seat), Matthew Minns (four seat), David Buckley (three seat), Nicholas Matousch (two seat), and Robert Byrne (bow).

Temple also raced two boats in the 52-competitor varsity four event. The Owls top finish came from the "A" boat that ranked 28th in 15:37.88, while the "B" entry was 47th in 16:20.21. The "A" boat was made up of Truman Levine (coxswain), Collin McKinney (stroke), Charles Anderson (three seat), Thomas Robbins (two seat), and Ryan Dartnell (bow), while the "B" boat featured Samuel Vecchione (coxswain), Connor Murphy (stroke), Evan Hammond (three seat), Brian Reifsnyder (two seat), and Gary Weilgus (bow).

Temple crew will close out the fall portion of its season the weekend of November 8th, when the Owls participate in a pair of regattas in Mercer, N.J. On Saturday, the Owls will be at the Frostbite Regatta, and on Sunday, the team will participate in the Braxton Memorial Regatta.
