Butts Averaged 15.5 ppg for the Owls
Alliya Butts Named to Big 5 Weekly Honor Roll

PHILADELPHIA - Temple freshman Alliya Butts earned a spot on the Philadelphia Big 5 Women's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll for her play during the period ending November 23.
Butts came off the bench to average 15.5 points per game in a 1-3 week for the Owls. The rookie recorded double-digit point totals in all four games for Temple and also picked up 12 boards, nine steals and eight assists. At Saint Joseph's, Butts recorded 22 points, five rebounds and five assists in the overtime loss. On Friday, she scored 11 points and added four boards, leading the Owls to a win against Georgetown. The freshman poured in 19 more points against Kansas with three steals and three boards, while closing out the week with 10 points and four steals against Alabama.Â
Butts ranks second on the Temple team in scoring, averaging 14.0 points per game. She leads the team with nine steals and is third on the Owls with nine assists.Â
Temple is back in action on Sunday, completing the Hall of Fame Challenge Tournament with a 5 p.m. game against Harvard at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Conn.Â
