PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Temple freshman Tanaya Atkinson earned spots on both the American Athletic Conference and the Philadelphia Big 5 Weekly Honor Rolls for her play last week, leading the Owls to a win over Harvard.Â
Atkinson was named the Most Valuable Player in Temple's action at the Hall of Fame Challenge, as the Owls topped the Crimson, 81-69. The freshman racked up 20 points and seven rebounds with a pair of steals in the Temple victory. Atkinson shot 41% from the field and was a perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line.Â
For the season, the rookie ranks third on the Owls in both scoring and rebounding with 12.7 points and 6.3 boards per game. Atkinson and the Temple team will be back in action on Wednesday at 7 p.m. taking on Delaware at home at the Liacouras Center.
