12.16.14 | Women's Basketball

PHILADELPHIA - Temple senior Tyonna Williams has earned a spot on the Philadelphia Big 5 Women's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll for her play during the period ending December 14.

Williams averaged 12 points and five assists, as the Owls came up short against a pair of nationally-recognized opponents last week. Against No. 17/19 Rutgers, she contributed team highs of 14 points and seven assists in an 88-55 loss. Against FSU, who is receiving votes in both national polls, the senior tallied eight points, three assists, and three steals, with all eight points coming in the second half of a close 66-62 loss.

Williams is second on the team in scoring, averaging 11.3 points per game. She is Temple's leading playmaker with a team-best 3.8 assists per game, and she also has 10 steals, and three blocks this season.

Temple women's basketball is back in action on Thursday, traveling to Washington, D.C., to take on Howard at 5 p.m.
