Brandon Matthews Continues To Hold Lead at Dixie Amateur

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. — Temple junior golfer Brandon Matthews continues to hold a one-shot lead at the Dixie Amateur, carding an even-par 72 on the second day of play. He has a six-under 138 over the first two rounds.
Anthony Gabriele carded a three-under 69 on the day and is in second place with a five-under 139. Drew Czuchry, who was tied for second after day one, was one-over for his second round, and is currently two strokes back and in third place with a four-under 140.
The Dixie Men's Amateur, the third and final Dixie event taking place in South Florida this December, is being conducted at Heron Bay Golf Club and TPC Eagle Trace.
The 72-hole event features three rounds at Heron Bay before a 54-hole cut. The remaining players will finish the tournament at TPC Eagle Trace.
