Brandon Matthews Extends Lead at Dixie Amateur

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. — Temple junior golfer Brandon Matthews extended his lead to two strokes at the Dixie Amateur after finishing the third round with a two-under 70. He now is eight-under 206 for the tournament.
Owls' senior Pat Ross also made the cut, carding a one-over 73. Ross is tied for 21st overall at four-over.
Drew Czuchry matched Matthews with a 70 on his third round, moving up one spot to second place with a six-under for the tournament. James Clark, who shot a four-under 68, and Anthony Gabriele are tied for third five strokes off the pace with three-under 213s.
The 72-hole event concludes Monday at TPC Eagle Trace.
