Covile Named to American and Big 5 Honor Rolls

PHILADELPHIA -- Temple junior Erica Covile earned a spot on both the American Athletic Conference and the Philadelphia Big 5 Weekly Honor Rolls for her play during the period ending December 28.
Covile averaged a double-double with 11.5 points and 11.5 rebounds in a 1-1 week for the Owls. The junior opened with a 11-point, 10-board performance in a narrow 64-59 loss to Villanova. Covile followed it up with 12 points and 13 rebounds in a 58-57 win over Memphis. Against the Tigers, she was 2-2 from three point range, with both buckets coming in the final six minutes of a comeback win for the Owls.Â
On the season, Covile leads the team with 8.5 rebounds per game and is fourth on the team in scoring, averaging 9.4 points per outing. She also leads the Owls with four double-doubles this year.Â
Temple women's basketball is back in action tomorrow, hosting SMU in an American Athletic Conference clash beginning at 7 p.m. at McGonigle Hall.Â
