Shipp Named to Women’s Basketball Honor Rolls

PHILADELPHIA – Temple senior Shi-Heria Shipp (Salisbury, N.C.) was named to the American Athletic Conference and Philadelphia Big 5 women's basketball Honor Rolls on Monday following the Owls' two wins on the week.
Last week, Shipp averaged 11.5 points and 12.5 rebounds per game. She also had seven assists and four steals while shooting 55 percent (11-20) from the field.
In her return to the starting line-up in the 79-46 win at Houston last Wednesday, Shipp recorded her fourth double-double of the season (fifth of her career) with 15 points and a game-high 12 rebounds. She shot 70 percent (7-of-10) from the field and dished out four assists.
In Sunday's 64-51 win over Memphis, Shipp grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds and scored eight points. She also had three assists, two steals, and a block in 26 minutes of action.
Shipp has played in all 23 games with 16 starts, including starting nods in both wins on the week. She is third in team scoring with 9.6 ppg and second in rebounding with 6.9 rpg. She shoots 45 percent from the field and 67 percent from the line.
The honors are the third for Shipp this season. She also earned Honor Roll accolades from the American and the Big 5 on Nov. 11, 2013; and Dec. 16, 2013.
The Temple Owls (12-11, 6-6 American) travel to No. 4 Louisville (23-2, 11-1 American) on Wednesday, Feb. 12 for a 7 p.m. game at the KFC Yum! Center. ESPN3 will televise the game live online.
