Golf Opens Spring Season at Tiger Invitational

OPELIKA, AL - Temple men's golf opened its 2014 spring schedule at the Tiger Invitational Monday. Playing on the Grand National Lake Course, the Owls placed 14th in the 15-team field over the first two rounds, carding a 633.
Sophomore Brandon Matthews led the Cherry and White, shooting a 73 each round for a two-over par 146 to tie for 15th overall. Matthew Crescenzo was 13 strokes behind his teammate with a 159 (81-78) to tie for 62nd. Evan Galbreath (84-78, 162), Matthew Teesdake (84-82, 166) and Alec Kissel (84-88, 172) rounded out the field for Temple.
Host Auburn led the Invitational with a 564 with the Tigers' Niclas Carlsson carding a nine-under 135 to pace the 81-player field.
Play concludes Tuesday.
