Golf Finishes 14th at Tiger Invitational

OPELIKA, AL - Temple men's golf placed 14th our of 15 teams at the 2014 spring schedule at the Tiger Invitational Tuesday. Playing on the Grand National Lake Course, the Owls shot a 935 as a team over the two-day, three-round event.
Sophomore Brandon Matthews led the Cherry and White, shooting a four-over par 220 (73-73-74) to tie for 20th overall. Freshman Evan Galbreath, who carded a 69 in the final round - the best by an Owl at the Invitational, recorded a 231 (84-78-69) to tie for 55th. Senior Matthew Crescenzo (81-78-80, 239), junior Matthew Teesdale (84-82-79, 245) and junior Alec Kissel (84-88-88, 260) rounded out the field for Temple.
Host Auburn won the Invitational with a 842 with Jacksonville State's Tomasz Anderson carding a 10-under 206 to pace the 81-player field.
Temple next competes at C&F Bank Intercollegiate in Williamsburg, VA from March 23-25.
