Women's Tennis Defeated at Binghamton, 5-2

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Temple women's tennis team fell at Binghamton, 5-2, on Friday evening on the courts at Binghamton Tennis Center. The Bearcats won six of the nine matches.
After splitting the first two doubles matchups, Binghamton took the point with an 8-7 (7-3) victory at No. 2.
Yana Mavrina tied the match with her win at the second flight. The senior was leading 5-4 when her opponent retired due to injury. The hosts responded, however, with three-straight singles wins to take the 4-1 lead and wrap up the match.
Rebecca Breland was the other point winner for the Owls, defeating her opponent at No. 5, 6-2, 6-0.
Temple is back in action on Saturday, March 22, with a match at cross-city rival Penn at 12 p.m.
