Men's Golf in 23rd Place After First Round at Middleburg Bank Intercollegiate

Day One Results
WILLIAMSBURG, VA - Temple men's golf placed 23rd of 27 teams with a score of 311 following the first round of play at the Middleburg Bank Intercollegiate held at the par-70, 6,765 yards Kingsmill Resort River Course Sunday.
Weather played a huge factor in the Owls' struggles as Temple, which had an afternoon tee time, played its final 14 holes through torrential rain and bitter cold conditions.
Junior Matt Teesdale had the best round for the Owls, carding a four-over 74 to tie for 46th, Junior Mike Amole was the only other Temple player under 80, shooting a 76 to tie for 73rd. Senior Matthew Crescenzo (80), sophomore Brandon Matthews (81) and freshman Evan Galbreath (87) rounded out the field for the Cherry and White.
Eastern Michigan and Texas Tech shared the lead after the first round with a score of 288. Carter Jenkins of UNCG led the field of 140 golfers wih a two-under 68.Â
Play continues Monday with Temple teeing off at 7:55 a.m.
