UPDATED: Game time for the first pitch of game one on Saturday, March 29, has been moved to 10 a.m. Game two will follow shortly after.
PHILADELPHIA – Temple's softball squad has had a challenging spring due to the weather, cancelling four home doubleheaders in the last three weeks. This weekend, the Owls (7-14, 0-3 AAC) will host American Athletic Conference foe UCF (24-10, 3-0 AAC) for three games, marking the first competition at Temple Softball Stadium this season.
TU and the Knights are currently scheduled to play a doubleheader on Saturday, March 29, beginning at 12 p.m., before playing a single game on Sunday, March 30, beginning at 12 p.m. With rain in the forecast this weekend, we encourage fans to check OwlSports.com before heading to the games in the event of schedule changes.
The Cherry & White are led by senior Sarah Prezioso, who is hitting .364 and is 10th among conference leaders. The captain has stolen eight bases this year, giving her 51 for her career, which is tied for the Temple career mark.
A trio of pitchers have done the brunt of the work for the Owls. Sophomore Kelsey Dominik has made nine appearances, starting eight of them and going 4-5 with a squad-best 2.83 ERA. Freshman Amanda Gatt has stepped in the circle on eight occasions, posting a 2-2 record with a 3.42 ERA. Junior Jessica Mahoney has started six of the seven games she has played in, going 1-5 with a 4.41 ERA.
