Men's Golf Ties for 10th At Furman Intercollegiate

GREENVILLE, SC - Sophomore Brandon Matthews shot an even par 72 on the final day of competition Sunday at the Furman Intercollegiate to help the Owls place 14th overall (of 18 teams) in the three-day tournament.
Matthews, who finished the 54-hole event with a four-under 212, tied for fourth overall among the 111-player field.
Trevor Cone (66-69-70) of Virginia Tech won the Furman Intercollegiate with an 11-under 205.
Senior Matthew Crescenzo carded a four-over 76 on the final day to finish with a six-over 222 (73-73-76) and tie for 26th overall. Junior Matt Teesdale was next for the Owls and 84th overall with a 231 (72-80-79) while and junior Mike Amole, who carded his best round of the tournament (75), finished with a 233 and tied for 87th. Freshman Evan Galbreath placed 110th with a 250.
Virginia Tech and Georgia State shared overall team honors with identical 855 scores. Temple was tied with Samford with an 898.
Temple next competes at the Princeton Invitational on April 12-13.
