HOUSTON, Texas – Temple's women's tennis team came up against some tough competition in its first American Athletic Conference match, falling 4-0 at #21 Houston on Wednesday, March 5.
 
The Cougars took a 1-0 lead with wins at the first and second doubles matches. Yana Mavrina and Alicia Doms were winning their match at No. 3, 7-4, but did not finish since the point was secure.
 
In singles action, Houston made quick work of the Owls, winning in straight sets at the first, fourth and fifth flights. With the decision secured, the teams did not finish the remaining three singles matches.
 
Temple (3-6) returns to play on Thursday, March 6, with another conference match, taking on SMU at 5 p.m. EST.
