2014 College Soccer News Recruiting Rankings

PHILADELPHIA –
The 2014 recruiting class for Temple men's soccer has been named the 19th best recruiting class in the nation by College Soccer News.  This is the second year in a row Head Coach David MacWilliams has had a recruiting class ranked in the top 20 by College Soccer News.

Five recruits are singled out as being top recruits for Temple:  Felipe Liboio of Chula Vista, California, Sphiwe Zwane of Trinity High School in Louisville, Kentucky, Brendan Creed from Trinidad and Tobago, Ollie Tynkkynen from Finland, and Joseph Melong from Shattuck St. Mary's.

Zwane is a midfielder who also played for the River City Rovers Club Team.  Liborio is a forward who is ranked the 61st best recruit for 2014 by Top Drawer Soccer.  Creed has served as the captain of Trinidad and Tobago's U-17 National Team.  Tynkkynen also has experience with international competition, playing on Finland's U-19 Team.  Melong is a goalie from Shattuck's St. Mary's, the same school as second team all-conference, freshman defender Robert Sagel.

Seven players from Temple's 2013 recruiting lettered this past fall, including four starters.  Stefan Mueller logged the most minutes (1,726) of any Temple player besides goalie Dan Scheck while Robert Sagel was third with 1,680 minutes.
