Softball Cancels Today's Doubleheader with Villanova

PHILADELPHIA - Temple softball's doubleheader against Villanova, scheduled for Tuesday, April 15 at Temple Softball Stadium in Ambler, Pa., has been canceled. With heavy rain expected in the area, the Owls have been forced to call the games, which had been already been postponed from March due to snow.
TU (13-19, 3-6 AAC) will now sit idle until heading to UConn (9-29, 2-9 AAC) for a trio of American Athletic Conference games with the Huskies on Friday-Saturday, April 18-19.
The Owls enter the weekend games winners in three of their last four contests. Sarah Prezioso leads the team offensively, batting .402 on the year, which is good for fourth among league players. The shortstop has a team-best 41 hits, six doubles, seven homers and 21 RBI. After an impressive week in which she batted .500 (8-for-16) last week, the senior was named the American Athletic Conference and OwlSports.com Under Armour Athlete of the Week.
On the mound, Kelsey Dominik continues to pace the squad with an 8-7 record through 14 starts and 16 appearances. The sophomore has a team-best 2.35 ERA, pitching 95.1 innings and limiting batters to a .246 average.
