Matthews To Tee-Off at Raleigh Regional Thursday

RALEIGH, NC - Temple sophomore Brandon Matthews will tee-off Thursday at 9:50 a.m. in the first round of the NCAA Raleigh Men's Golf Regional. The tournament, hosted by NC State, will be played on the par-71, 7,213-yard Lonnie Poole Golf Course.
Matthews, who will be paired with Bethune-Cookman's Emanuel Petrich and Charlotte's Franco Castro, is very familiar with the course. In the fall, he placed third at the Wolfpack Intercollegiate (Oct. 7-8) with a nine-under 207 (67-68-72). This spring, in a weather-shortened Wolfpack Spring Open, he carded a six-over 78 for the one-round event.
The Raleigh Regional is a three-day event with the low five teams and the low individual not among those teams advancing to the finals.
The finals will be conducted May 23-28 at Prairie Dunes Country Club in Hutchinson, Kansas. Wichita State University is the host institution for the 2014 championships.
