Men's Soccer Players Robert Sagel and Miguel Polley Represented Temple Across the Globe This Summer

PHILADELPHIA – Temple men's soccer players Robert Sagel and Miguel Polley had the opportunity to train with some of the best soccer players this summer with the United States National Team. Sagel and Polley went to the U.S. Under-20 Men's National Team on May 17-25. They were two of 24 players picked for the team and the only representatives from the American Athletic Conference.
This wasn't the first experience for both players with U.S. Soccer. Sagel has had one previous call-up with the U-17 Men's National Team when he attended the Mondial Minimes International Tournament in Montaigu, France, in April of 2011. Polley was also last called up for a U-18 MNT camp in Carson, California in March of 2012.
This wasn't the only soccer related experience the two players had during the summer. Polley traveled to Serbia for tryouts that consisted of playing against numerous professional players. Sagel excelled in the Premier Developmental League with Reading United. Sagel was named one of the 10 best division one players in the league by Top Drawer Soccer after playing in nine games and scoring one goal in 753 minutes of action.
