Women's Tennis Continues Play at Saint Joseph's Invitational

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple women's tennis team saw success on the second day of the Saint Joseph's Invitational on Saturday. In doubles play, senior Rebecca Breland and freshman Yana Khon advanced to the semi-finals, while Breland and freshman Monet Stuckey-Willis also advanced to the semi-finals in singles play.
The pair of Breland and Khon defeated their opponents in the doubles flight two quarterfinals by a score of 8-2. They will compete in the semi-finals of flight two Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m.
In singles action for the Owls, both Breland and Willis won their quarterfinals matches 6-4, 6-1 and 6-1, 6-1 respectively. Breland will continue her quest for a singles crown at 11:00 a.m. in flight four as Willis does the same in flight two at 9:30 a.m. Sunday morning.
Junior Minami Okajima won her round of 16 singles match on Saturday by a score of 6-2, 6-3 before falling to her opponent in the quarterfinals of flight three 6-4, 6-3.
The tournament will resume at Saint Joseph's University Sunday morning.
