Breland Falls Short in Finals Match on Last Day of Saint Joseph's Invitational

PHILADELPHIA - Several members of Temple's women's tennis team were still vying for a title on the last day of the Saint Joseph's Invitational on Sunday. Senior Rebecca Breland continued her success this weekend and advanced to the finals of flight four with a score of 4-6, 7-6(2), 10-8.
In the finals match, Breland battled her foe from Delaware but lost 6-4, 6-2; finishing the weekend as the runner-up of the singles flight four.
Breland and freshman Yana Khon competed in the semi-finals of the doubles flight two Sunday morning but came up just short, falling to their opponents from Delaware by a score of 8-1.
In singles action, freshman Monet Stuckey-Willis lost her semi-finals match and concluded her play for the weekend losing by a score of 6-2, 6-2.
The Owls will be in action next at the City 6 Invitational the weekend of Oct. 3-5 in Philadelphia, Pa.
